Objectives:
Filmtek Data Solutions were awarded the contract to provide enhanced Blast Mitigation and Glass Containment across several buildings within the asset portfolio of SAMREF refinery petrochemical sites.
Solution:
The installation was further enhanced by way of a frame fix utilising a Hilti metal expansion anchor bolt. As one of the world’s largest oil producing and exporting company, SAMREF’s primary criteria was to ensure containment and protection in the event of a blast to retain the building envelope wherever possible and to mitigate blast effects to ensure safety and business continuity.
Result:
Following a blast analysis, Filmtek supplied and installed the FT800 clear high-tensile strength multi-ply window film together with a 4-sided installation of the Elite Flexible edge-retention anchoring profile and the FT800 clear high-tensile strength multi-ply window film with a silicone edge-retention anchor.
