Case Study: Enhancing Security of International Head Quarters in Geneva

Client: Two major international organisations in Geneva

Challenge: Vulnerable Glazing Posing Security Risks

Following an explosive threat assessment, FDS identified significant vulnerabilities in the glazing systems. Their buildings, spanning multiple decades of construction, contained various types of float and toughened glass that required enhanced blast mitigation measures. One building also had outdated shatter-resistant film that had reached the end of its efficiency certification and needed urgent upgrading.

FilmTek’s Solution

To address these critical security concerns, these clients deployed expert teams to install high-tensile strength shatter-resistant film and advanced anchoring systems across the premises. The project included:

  • the headquarters of one organisation: Application of 175 and 200-micron clear high-tensile strength film with four-sided structural silicone edge retention anchoring across three interlinked buildings.
  • multiple buildings of another organisation: Removal of outdated film and installation of 200 and 300-micron clear high-tensile strength film with structural silicone anchoring across five buildings.

Seamless Execution & Rapid Deployment

FilmTek mobilised specialised installation teams to ensure smooth project execution with minimal disruption to daily operations. Skilled professionals in structural silicone sealant application were deployed at key stages to enhance efficiency and quality. The team worked closely with the customers’ key personnel to ensure adherence with stringent security standards.
